The East Carolina University Apparel Merchandising and
Textile Organization (AMTO) has been in existence since 1993. During the
2002-2003 school year, the name was changed to the Apparel and Interior
Merchandising Organization (AIMO) in order to include the interior
merchandising majors. It has been a strong and resourceful organization, which
has served as a focal point for merchandising students, offering different programs,
field trips and community service activities. As an organization, the goals of
AIMO include:
To generate pride and enthusiasm
for our major and to provide access to all avenues of information in order to
broaden our knowledge of all the career directions that are available for us to
pursue.
As a
non-profit organization, we hold an annual Fashion Show which serves as not only
our largest fundraiser, but also the biggest learning experience for members.
Volunteering in the community is also an important aspect of our organization
alongside the leadership and development of our members.
